Get help with your treatment
Have you become ill or injured? Then you can get quick help. Here’s what you need to do. There are three steps:
- Contact your own doctor
First, you should contact your own doctor. Your own doctor knows you best. Therefore, they can best assess which examination or treatment you need. - Call Us at 7010 0117
Afterwards, you should call us. Here you will receive help and personal advice from our experienced physiotherapists and nurses. They help you plan the treatment, and they can often book appointments directly with the practitioners. We are ready to help Monday to Thursday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Otherwise, you can report your illness or injury electronically. You can do this at any time of the day.
Report Illness or Injury - Get treatment quickly
Once we have approved your treatment, we will immediately send you to the right specialist or practitioner, or within a few days. Then you can start the actual treatment. Your health insurance only covers expenses for treatment that AP Pension has approved before you start the treatment. Therefore, it is important that you contact us before you start a treatment. Otherwise, your health insurance does not cover it. You should also contact us if you have already been approved for a number of treatments and would like the insurance to cover an additional number of treatments.

What do we not cover
Your AP Health Insurance covers the treatments mentioned in your insurance terms. Typically, the insurance does not cover cases such as these:
- Chronic diseases that were diagnosed before the insurance took effect at AP Pension
- Emergency treatment
- Cosmetic surgeries
- Dental treatment and surgery of any kind
- All forms of contraception, including sterilization or equivalent preventive treatments
- Obesity surgeries or treatments
- Regular vision or hearing corrective examinations, including control, surgery, and other treatment, as well as glasses, contact lenses, hearing tests, and hearing aids
- Congenital disorders.
Even if you are not covered by your health insurance in the specific case, we are happy to advise you and help you further in the treatment process in the public or private system. You can see examples of
chronic illnesses hereList of chronic illnesses
If you develop a chronic illness or condition, the health insurance only covers a period of six months from diagnosis. It is also a prerequisite that the illness or condition was diagnosed after you joined the health insurance scheme.
A chronic illness or condition often persists for a long time or comes back again and again, and treatment is unable to cure the illness or condition.
At AP Pension, an illness or condition is chronic if it:
- is persistent, and
- causes permanent harm or consequences, or

AP Pension has partnered with Dansk Sundhedssikring. Your practitioner can now bill AP Health Insurance directly, so you typically won’t need to pay upfront. If you’ve paid for treatments yourself, you can submit your expenses for reimbursement through the user portal at https://sl.ds-sundhed.dk/ under the ‘Upload Bills’ menu.
