Election of board of directors
- In even-numbered years, up to four members are elected from among the delegates representing the employers.
- In uneven-numbered years, up to ten members are elected by and from among the delegates representing the insured, of whom at least one member represents electoral group B2 and at least one member represents electoral group B3.
- Four board members are elected by and from among AP Pension’s employees.
Elections take place according to the prioritization method.
The members of the Board of Directors elected at the general meeting are elected for a period of two years. The board members elected by AP Pension’s employees are elected for a period of four years.

Diversity of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Foreningen AP Pension f.m.b.a. seeks to promote a diverse and balanced board of directors that broadly represents the diversity of its members. The Board of Directors of Foreningen AP Pension f.m.b.a. encourages all members who have an interest in board work to apply as candidates for a seat on the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors of Foreningen AP Pension f.m.b.a. seeks a balanced distribution of its members’ competences and evaluates its work each year with a view to identifying any need for updating knowledge or competences.
New board members attend introductory courses and board members are offered further training as required.
Board competencies
The Board of Directors has determined the necessary competences and qualifications that the AP Pension boards must have overall. In addition to the board’s overall competence requirement, each board member should have a qualified, autonomous and independent approach to the board’s work, exude integrity and commitment, be fit for the role and honest.
The Board of Directors has assessed that the necessary competences and qualifications for the board’s work include experience of:
- understanding business and business development;
- financial risks and risk management;
- legal framework and requirements for financial undertakings;
- accounting and auditing matters;
- actuarial conditions;
- investment strategy, asset classes and market performance;
- management of any other relevant financial undertaking;
- IT/digitalization/technology risks;
- board work
